Governor’s Message March 2008

Lions:
It's hard to believe that we have only 3 months left in our
2007-2008 Lions year. Where has the time gone.
First, I must ask you once again to considerate your efforts on
membership. As of January 31st 2008, we have lost 34 Lions during
this lion year; only 1499 lions to do all the work that we do so
well. If each club was to bring in net "1" new lion before we
actuaaly end my term as District Governor we would have a net
increase;we would take the burden off our already over taxed Lions.
I thank you all in advance for undertaking this challenge!

Secondly, I wish to talk about the "USA/Canada Lions Leadership
Forum" to be held in Saskatoon Saskatchewan Canada. This is the 32dn
Annual Forum and it runs from September 18-20 2008! The guest
motivational speaker and 64 seminars offered are second to none.

sponsor any first timer and welcome all returnees. See you all in

Finally, I remind you that we are now in our last 3 months of a 3
year commitment to raise funds for Campaign Sight First II. To date
the Lions of the world have raised over $157,900.00 towards our
$200,000.00 goal. Have you and your Lions Club done your part? I
again remind you that you can also make a personal donation, and
receive a tax receipt, and have that donation credited to your own
Lions club for a possible Melvin Jones Fellowship, to honour a Lion
in your own Lions Club.
